The overall objective of the forum is to unify and increase the capacity of organizations to create an environment of accountability and good governance in central and local level policy making and implementation in the Tanzanian HIV & AIDS sector by raising awareness on the importance of participating in the policy process and monitor implementation, facilitating networking and coordination among national and international organization that are working in this sector.

The four strategic objectives are:

• To coordinate, collate and share information with all members to encourage them to implement activities under objectives of the four thematic areas of the NMSF framework
• To have all members using the Social Accountability Approach to monitoring and influencing policy process through evidenced advocacy
• To have improved and focused advocacy in policy engagement and development among its members
• To increase organizational capacity of local CSOs
