Tanzania AIDS Forum is a national umbrella network of HIV and AIDS service organizations covering the whole country, currently it has 57 members from 11 regions of Tanzania. The headquarter is based in Dar es Salaam.
Vision
Participatory and transparent policy, budget and national strategic plan processes in the HIV & AIDS sector where citizens and CSOs can effectively hold the government accountable for policy planning, formulation and implementation.
Mission
To influence and build capacity of member organizations to effectively engage in policy and national strategic plans formulation, implementation and review, and to motivate them to demand good governance and accountability in the HIV & AIDS sector.
Values
- Effective representation and unanimous inclusion of all members in all decision making and advocacy under the TAF Secretariat
- Open to sharing and learning from the experiences of all members and CSOs that conduct similar or related activities by open communication, networking and capacity building among members
- Accountability for all TAF activities as well as members roles in these activities
- Transparency and effective participation in budget and policy decision making in the HIV & AIDS sector through collective and organized advocacy by TAF members
- Strong concentration on issues concerning the use of funds by the government on activities of the government on behalf of citizens in order to keep them informed and empower them to exert influence on planning and utilization of these funds.
- Unity among CSOs in raising awareness on policy issues in the HIV & AIDS sector, and higher capacity for CSOs to contribute to a social movement to combat the spread of HIV & AIDS using the policy process.
- Dedication to equal representation of men and women in policy planning and decision making in the HIV & AIDS sector.
