The main function of the Board of Directors comprises is to oversee the effective functioning of the Forum and to advise the Secretariat on its daily governance functions to achieve the set goals.

The Board of directors serves for a period of two years before boards of directors are elected, and they are mandated to stay in power for 4 consecutive years. The existing members may be re-elected for another term but not for more than two consecutive terms.

The specific functions of the committee shall be:

  1. To execute the governance functions
  2. To identify and address potential funding and expertise required to meet the objectives of the FORUM.
  3. To guide and monitor the work of the Secretariat
  4. To consult the Secretariat on matters of making decision on the behalf of forum, for example, quick advocacy issues.
  5. Identify and address any potential problem/threat to the existence of the FORUM.
